BALTIMORE, MD, April 15, 2024– INFORMS, the largest association for the decision and data sciences, has awarded JD.com, a leading supply chain-based technology and service provider, with the 2024 INFORMS Prize, for unparalleled dedication to utilizing operations research (O.R.) and analytics in its organizational structure to ensure a more efficient, responsive, and consumer-centric supply chain.
JD.com prides itself on the development of its own comprehensive logistics infrastructure. Utilizing this has led to the implementation of optimized logistics network and delivery routes, efficiently managed warehouse and inventory, and quick-operated order fulfillment. JD.com has achieved incredible results in inventory turnover, about 30 days, and timely delivery – 95% of self-operated orders deliver the same day or next day.
The INFORMS Prize is awarded to organizations that have repeatedly applied the principles of O.R. in lasting ways.
