LA’s Port Crisis Is Snarling the Economy. These Quick Fixes Would Help.

Los Angeles’s notorious traffic jams are a common sight, but the current logjam at its ports is something new. To alleviate the snarled supply chain issues at these ports, President Biden announced on Oct. 13 that the Los Angeles port will follow the Long Beach port to operate 24 hours per day. But there is no sign of the crisis abating. The number of ships waiting to unload hit a new record of 100 container ships on Oct. 19 with 45 more arriving the following 3 days.

There have been more than 500 breakthrough infections of COVID-19 in fully vaccinated casino workers in Clark County, a number similar to that of health care workers, newly obtained data from the Southern Nevada Health District shows.
